During my normal, random scans of CL I came across this. A 1968 BMW 1600. Essentially the same body as on 02 just a smaller engine.
Now I've often dreamed of 2002s with M/// engine swaps, but always thought I would feel bad about tearing apart an 02 like that.
So which would be worse in your eyes Oppo. Motorswaping the coveted 2002 or the less powerful, less coveted 1600?

I would drive that 1600 as is. It is a rare beast these days!

Find a 2002 without the round tail lights and do the M swap. I think they started square tail lights in 1974 and they're a little less desirable than the round lights so you wouldn't piss off too many fanboys.
